The Talon Leather Knife

This knife is the perfect tool for watch strap and wallet makers. The Talon Leather Scalpel is a heavy-duty knife that can handle even the most tough leather and is beautifully handcrafted in the USA. It’s sharp blade easily slices through leather, making it the perfect tool for any small goods project or cutting precision patterns.

The Talon Leather Knife is made to order, please indicate your Nitrile or Latex Glove Size, as this is important to making this knife fit perfectly.

There are three methods to holding this knife:
– Like a pen to cut patterns
– Thumb behind the back and pinky wrapped around the back for push skives
– Two fingers on top while choking up on the blade for skiving and slicing small goods

As a leather crafter, this is my personal go to for all my leather watch straps.

HRC is 61-63. I do offer harder options but remember, a harder HRC is incredibly brittle and chips easily. If it is dropped parts of the metal may snap off.

Note: Just like high quality Japanese Knives, these are made out of High Quality High Carbon Steel, they sharpen beautifully but they will rust if not oiled properly or exposed to moisture. I highly recommend Tsubaki Japanese Knife Oil to maintain these beautiful knives.
